hose info

The SAE 100 R7 hose is a lightweight, non-conductive thermoplastic hydraulic hose designed for medium-pressure applications. It features a thermoplastic inner tube, a synthetic fiber reinforcement, and a thermoplastic outer cover. Ideal for use with petroleum, synthetic or water-based hydraulic fluids.

Specification

Structure

Outside Cover

Abrasion-, weather-, and oil-resistant thermoplastic outer cover. Available in multiple colors (standard: black or orange), with optional non-conductive (orange) version for electrical insulation.

Reinforcement

One or two layers of high-tensile synthetic fiber braid, providing excellent pressure resistance and flexibility.

Inner Tube

Thermoplastic inner tube compatible with petroleum-based hydraulic fluids, synthetic esters, water-glycol, and air. Smooth surface for reduced friction loss.

Features

Non-Conductive Cover

Ideal for use in applications requiring electrical insulation or in proximity to electrical components.

Wide Fluid Compatibility

Compatible with petroleum-based, synthetic, and water-based hydraulic fluids.

Lightweight and Compact

Lighter and smaller OD than rubber hoses, reducing installation effort and system weight.

Abrasion-Resistant Outer Layer

Durable thermoplastic cover resists wear and weathering in harsh environments.

Clean and Environmentally Friendly

Inner core provides minimal fluid permeation and easy flushing, maintaining a cleaner hydraulic system.

FAQs

It is used in hydraulic systems that require medium pressure resistance, especially where weight savings, non-conductivity, or tight routing are important—such as forklifts, aerial lifts, and mobile equipment.

Yes, R7 hose is compatible with water-based, petroleum-based, and synthetic hydraulic fluids.

R7 offers a higher pressure rating, non-conductivity, and better resistance to wear and chemicals, making it preferable in applications where those properties are critical.

In many medium-pressure and low-impulse applications, yes. However, for very high-pressure or high-impulse systems, wire braided hoses like R1 or R2 may still be needed.

Typical operating temperatures range from -40°C to +93°C (or -40°F to +200°F), depending on the fluid used.
