SAE 100 R14 Hydraulic Hose

SAE 100 R14 hose consists of a smooth bore PTFE inner tube and single or double stainless steel wire braid reinforcement. This construction provides excellent chemical resistance, thermal stability, and non-stick properties, while withstanding high working pressure. Unlike traditional rubber hydraulic hoses, PTFE hoses are ideal for clean media transfer, including steam, gas, oil, acids, and food-grade fluids.

Available in Type A (standard) and Type B (with conductive inner core) for applications requiring anti-static properties.

hose info

The R14 hydraulic hose is a Teflon (PTFE) lined hose designed for high temperature, chemically aggressive, and hygienic environments. It is commonly used in the chemical industry, food and beverage processing, pharmaceutical plants, and hydraulic systems requiring non-contamination.

FAQs

SAE 100 R14 hose is designed for high-temperature and chemical-resistant applications. It’s commonly used in industries such as chemical processing, food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, and hydraulics where media compatibility and cleanliness are crucial.

The inner tube is made of PTFE (Teflon), offering outstanding resistance to chemicals, high temperatures, and non-stick performance.

SAE 100 R14 PTFE hoses are compatible with a wide range of aggressive fluids due to the chemical inertness of PTFE. These include:

  • Hydraulic fluids (mineral oil-based, synthetic, phosphate esters)

  • Solvents (acetone, toluene, MEK)

  • Acids and alkalis (sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, sodium hydroxide)

  • Gases (compressed air, nitrogen, oxygen – in non-oil environments)

  • Food-grade fluids (milk, juice, alcohol, edible oils – when using FDA-compliant PTFE)

  • Steam and hot water

  • Fuels (gasoline, diesel, kerosene, biofuels)

Thanks to its non-reactive and non-stick nature, PTFE can handle nearly all industrial chemicals except for molten alkali metals and elemental fluorine at high temperatures. This makes R14 hoses ideal for demanding chemical transfer and hygienic applications.

The R14 hose operates from –54°C to +260°C (–65°F to +500°F), making it suitable for steam, hot oil, and other extreme temperature media.

Yes, the PTFE inner tube is FDA-approved, odorless, and non-toxic. It’s widely used in food-grade and pharma applications.

Type A has a non-conductive white PTFE core, while Type B uses black conductive PTFE, which prevents electrostatic discharge in flammable environments.

Absolutely. We offer pre-crimped PTFE hose assemblies with a variety of stainless steel fittings, custom lengths, and optional external protection covers.
