EN 854 2TE hoses are widely used in agriculture, construction, industrial hydraulics, and material handling equipment.
The excellent flexibility allows easier routing in tight spaces, reduces stress on fittings, and minimizes installation time.
It can replace steel braided hoses in certain low to medium-pressure systems, but for high-pressure or heavy-duty use, steel wire reinforced hoses (e.g., EN 853 series) are recommended.
Limitations include restricted suitability for high-pressure impulse applications, lower maximum pressure compared to steel wire reinforced hoses, and reduced performance under very high pulsation frequencies. For such applications, steel wire braid hoses (EN 853 series) are recommended.
The two synthetic fiber braids significantly increase working pressure compared to 1TE. According to EN 854 standards, the burst pressure is at least 4 times the working pressure, ensuring a safe margin for hydraulic applications.
EN 854 2TE is preferred when weight reduction, high flexibility, and cost efficiency are more important than very high working pressure. For example, in agricultural machinery return lines or light-duty hydraulic circuits where space and flexibility matter, 2TE is more suitable.
